As you asked, Marion. This is the exact spot where I had that accident last Wednesday.
Seeing the picture I think I know what happened.
On the moment that the taxi passed by me while driving way too fast, I must have been with the front wheel of my bicycle on the rail. So when I pulled hard to the right, the wheel slipped straight into the rail. Add to that, as a colleague told me, those rails can be extreme slippery after rain.
I came from the other side with my bicycle (where on the picture that car is approaching).
The lesson learned is that tram rails are dangerous!!!!
What a nasty place.
It looks as one of those road that invite to ride faster as one allowed is… and all what can happen because of that 🙁
Yes, I was told that many taxi-drivers use that road as a fast shortcut to avoid the busy roads on the other side of the station.
Wow, nasty. I think i can see the dent in the road where you landed…….
Just as a practical joke, you should paint a chalk picture on the road. Rob was here. Would make a nice picture……
(sorry, couldn’t help myself. bad bad me…… i’ll go and stand in the corner……. 😉 )
Funny one, Patrick 🙂
Still it gives me the creeps to think what happened there and what could have been the result of it.
Hey Sanne,
Everyone can walk out of there own frontdoor, stumble over a tile and break…. well you get the point.
Beside some bruises, rob is oke. and we are all glad about that. No use in thinking what could have happened.
So Rob now has another good story to tell, drinking a glas of beer with his friends. That’s what matters
Patrick is right, Sanne. Sure, all kind of bad things could have happened, but they didn’t. So lets have fun and laugh about it. Else I will give you next weekend a tickling-attack again 😛
Shall I hold her again, so she cannot escape?
🙂
Meanies…..
