Of course, everyone wants to win a big prize in a lottery. I think for many that is the main reason to play a lottery.
If the money that people pay to be part of a lottery is used for charity, culture or use it where people are in need of help, it already another good reason to play. And yes, I hear people already grumbling that the biggest of the money goes to the salary of directors and such. Please get your facts right and don’t believe every first hoax that is going around.
But if a lottery gives away small prices as reduction on tickets of concerts of museums or other small prices, it makes it even fun to play along.
And so I have three new cookbooks again. Yes, a small, but fun prize, in a lottery.
The names of the cookbooks are “Tosti’s met een twist” (“Toasted sandwiches with a twist”), “Eten met stokjes” (“Eating with chopsticks”) and “Pasta’s en Sauzen” (“Pastas and sauces”).
I think I will have a lot of fun in the kitchen with them. Especially the one about toasted sandwiches seems a lot of fun to me. I saw some great ideas for nice sandwiches for a Sunday afternoon.
And these books add nicely to my still growing collection of cookbooks, with as oldest book the one that my mother got at the domestic science school (wow, that sounds so much better as the Dutch “huishoudschool”.
As said, I can enjoy this kind of small prizes very well… (which doesn’t mean I would mind a big one :P).
I browsed through the tosti-book and there indeed some very recipes there. Looking forward to those Sunday lunches you mentioned :-).
Very nice.
You can have never too many cookbooks. Every one is one more. And even the most simple cookbook can have at times the most surprising suggestions.
And I love the “Ik kan koken” book that belonged to your mother. I have now my own exemplar (bought by a antiquarian located in Utrecht). So nice to have!
Yes, that is why you can find in our home everywhere cookbooks 🙂
*grin*
I bet there are also lots of books about flowers, plants, herbs and gardening! 🙂
Oh, that is most certainly like that. But it is okay like this. As cooking is my passion, plants are the passion of Jennifer. It is good this way. And she enjoys my cooking and I enjoy her flowers, herbs and plants :-).
