People who know me well know that I love liquorice. I am really Dutch in this. I know that a lot of people in other parts of the world passionately despise liquorice.
But I have to say I really like the better quality liquorice and not just what you can buy in supermarkets.
A licorice I really enjoy is “Klepper & Klepper”. It’s really a high-quality liquorice. The ingredients used are excellent and this is something you will taste. And yes, it’s a little more expensive than the liquorice at the supermarket, but it’s worth it.
And then something completely different that has to do with liquorice… and the real reason for this article!
A couple of days ago, Jennifer was shopping at the local supermarket and something got her attention. She saw a cottage cheese dessert with a liquorice flavour. I’m pretty sure she already knew how I would think about it, but as she knows very well, I love to try everything to define an honest personal opinion about it.
First of all, let me explain something. In my opinion, a good dessert (or any other dish) does not only have to have good taste, it also has to look very great. And even the smell can be really significant.
Well, the dessert that Jennifer bought for me to try out, did none of that.
Let’s be honest, does it look great? No, I don’t think so. I laughed when Jennifer saw that it looked like the ointment her mother used for eczema.
The taste? Way too sweet. Hardly anything that even tastes after real liquorice root.
As I am very negative about it, I will not mention the brand. But this is really nothing for me. But of course, this is my personal opinion and I am happy for the persons who do like it.
