Currently there is open air exhibition in Amsterdam, “The International Sculpture Route Amsterdam, Art Zuid”.
The sculptures were located at the Apollolaan and Minervastraat. The weather was very nice and it was very relaxing to walk there and make pictures of the many sculptures.
Okay, modern art is not my strongest point. I admit that right away. Maybe it is just me, but I must be able to recognize something… see what it is. And that is not because I have no imagination or something.
Sure, constructions with nice shapes and colors can also beautiful, but then for it is only about the shapes and colors. And not more then that… at least not for me.
Nevertheless I saw many things I liked. You could see the artist has been very busy with it.
But I have to admit that there were also some items I didn’t like at all. Some even so bad that I found taking a picture of it too much effort. But lets hold that to personal taste…
That is not art! That is mutilation!
Poor… POOOOR little VolksWagen.
That is so cruel…… 🙁
No no…. is a “Telekinetically bent VW Van”.
I’ll Telekinetically bent the artist. That will be fun.
hmmmmm. think think. bent bent bent.
Poor little bus……….
On the other side Patrick, the bus would have been most likely shredded by now. Thanks to the artist if will now have much longer life and people from all over the world will admire it.
I like this kinds of exhibits. They are open and accessible by everyone.
What I like to see in a piece of art (no matter what kind) is that the artist did put effort into his or her work.
It’s not meant to be that serious 😉
I have to say. It looks like a job well done with the curved window on the backside.
As far as the bus being shredded. I dont think so. As a VW Aircooled enthousiast, i know that this bus is 1 of the most desired oldtimers. The bus is very valuable to colllectors and enthousiast. In every state. Nothing of these beauties is thrown away or discarded.
As for these kinds of exhibits. I also like these. Liking an art object is all in the eye of the beholder
About 9 years ago I have been with my parents to Indonesia. This kind of old cars are there still very common and their condition is mostly very bad. I think that such a car would find its way to a shredder.
But over here you are right. Here it would be a collectors item.
Well, that is 1 way to put it and be right 🙂
So is bangldesh, Old planes and cars in South Africa, Old american Cars in Cuba, Harleydavidson bikes from india and so on.
but not in Europe (not even the new countries), America…
