This morning I was listening to the radio while helping Jennifer to clean our house. And suddenly there was this song….. “California Dreamin'” by The Mamas and The Pappas.
I have to be honest, I really like this style of music.
It made me walk up to our media set. I turned off the radio (which gave me some comments from Jennifer) and placed one of the CD’s we have in CD-player. And songs as “Monday, Monday”, California’s Dreamin'” and “Words of Love” were filling the living room.
Jennifer walked up to me, put an arm around me with the words “You are getting old, dear!”. By chasing her around the living room I showed how old I am…
But The Mammas and Pappas…..
So many memories! My parents played their music all the time. Even over then I liked their music already, which I of course never admitted to my parents.
In 1966 the band was formed and “California Dreamin'” was their biggest hit. But also “Monday Monday” is very well known. The band stopped in 1968. Only one of the original members of the is alive.
Don’t get me wrong, I also love “modern music”, but this kind of music has just a special place for me!

Their music was of great influence for others. And yes, I like it as well 🙂
