I just saw a draft post here on my blog where I mention that we are already working more as a month from home. That was written in April 2020.
It is now February 2021. Apart for some weeks that we went one day per week back to the office, it’s now almost a year that we are working from home.
I have colleagues that I have seen all that time. And some even I haven’t talked to (the ones you only meet at the coffee machine).
And I think it is harsh on many. People that are (often) alone. And other side people that are never alone anymore. Students of all ages that are suffering with learning from home.
Me? Yes, throughout the week I am often alone and at times that hits me.
Marion has to be close to her parents, so she can take care of them. They are in good health, but the risk with the virus is still high. Soon they will be vaccinated and that will bring relief.
On the other side, Marion and I working in the same house is not a good idea we know from experience (good for us… bad for work :-)).
As said, at times it is also a little hard for me. There are moments I feel alone. But luckily there is something as the Internet and with that you can reach out more easily to other. Although it will never replace a real conversation where all participants are at the same location.
Let just hope that vaccinating speeds up and soon everything can go more or less back to normal.
We are really longing to go back to Lesvos and meet our friends there..
