Some days ago I was looking for something an the attic… but I never found what I was looking for. But I did found this….
My old Petri SLR…. With this camera it all really started. It was so great to have it in my hands again…. Feels it weight compared to my new Nikon DSLR… to play with it again. Maybe one day I get a new battery for it… and a film. And then I will go with it for the last time.Someone whispered it into my ear and she was right. It is a relic… something to honor!!!!
Wauw Rob. How old is the camera?
I really enjoy the DSLR. But. These old SLR camera’s are still more simple to use than an DSLR. With these Old-SLR the photographer is always forced to combine Din/Iso – Shutterspeed and diafragm. I am stil figuring out how to do this on my DSLR (and most of all. How to do this as fast as with the old SLR)
Again. I just killed my opinion about DSLR being more simpel to use then old SLR…. grrrr…. 😀
The camera was introduced about 1977, I bought it somewhere around 1980. So yes, it is old.
May I suggest to do a course about DSLR. It helped me a lot, because I had the same confusion you are talking about.
Yes, basically a DSLR is more simple to handle as an old fashioned SLR as my Petri….. as long you don’t look at all the extra options an DSLR offers :P.
Like I already said, it is a relic. Maybe you should clean it and display it on a nice spot in your room. Just an idea!
