Yesterday evening Marion and I have been to the movie “Tron: Legacy” in the Pathe cinema (Amsterdam).
The movie we watched yesterday is a follow-up to an movie made in 1982. In the 1982 movie a computer scientist is literally abducted into the world of a computer and forced to participate in gladiatorial games where his only chance of escape is the help of a heroic security program.
This “old” cult movie I have already for some time on DvD. When I heard the new Tron movie was on it’s way, we watched it again to refresh our minds.
In the new Tron-movie the son of the computer scientist goes looking for his father and ends up inside the digital world that his father designed. He meets his father’s creation turned bad and a unique ally who was born inside the digital domain of The Grid.
I really liked the movie. Great special effects, good humour and an exciting story.
And I really appreciate it that Marion came along with me to such a movie. Science fiction is not really her thing.
For me this was the first time I watched a movie in 3D. I always pushed it a bit away because I was afraid it would turn into a disappointment for me. My bad right eye is the reason why I hardly see any depth. So why would that be with a 3D movie any different?
Maybe I didn’t experience the movie to fullest in 3D as Marion did, but I noticed at least some difference to normal movie. And I am already happy with that.
After the movie we went for some snack at KFC. I can’t help it, I love KFC… So much better as MacDonalds or Burger King!!!!
I had a very nice evening, Rob.
And even that I am not the biggest Science Fiction lover, doesn’t mean I can enjoy a well made movie like that. Because I did!
